Jensen Atwood (born August 25, 1976) is an American actor who was raised and currently resides in South Central, Los Angeles. He has two younger sisters and two older brothers. Raised by his mother with older brother Jason "String" Atwood. He studied acting at California State University, Long Beach, Playhouse West in Los Angeles,[1] and currently studies with Eric Morris.
Jensen Atwood - played love interest to Oscar® Winner Halle Berry in "Oprah Winfrey Presents Their Eyes Were Watching God", while working alongside the legendary and Academy Award® nominated Ruby Dee, as the unforgettable Johnny Taylor. He is also known for his role in Noah's Arc as Wade Robinson.[1] Noah's Arc is the first TV series featuring black gay men as main characters. In interviews, Atwood says that playing Wade was his most challenging role.
Atwood appeared in many music videos, and stage productions alongside Destiny's Child ("Soldier"), Toni Braxton (Hands Tied), Ashanti, Lil Mo ("Superwoman"), Beyonce Knowles, Heather Headley ("I Wish I Wasn't"), Ife ("Aim To Please") and Chanté Moore & Kenny Lattimore ("You Don't Have To Cry") and sang backup for Tyrese. He was on the cover of Krave Magazine, Bleu Magazine, and Ballroom Rockstar Magazine. Photo layout in Flaunt Magazine as well. He has also worked with national brands Coors Light, KFC, K-Swiss, and AT&T.
Jensen Atwood has spoken out against homophobia within the African-American community and explains the importance of versatility as well as equality. He is an avid supporter of LGBT rights and causes.
